Following IBJJF rules, except no advantages.

Weigh-ins with gi. Competitors that do not make weight MAY BE moved into a higher weight bracket only if possible. ANY weight changes must be done by Thursday, July 27th, by 5pm via email.

Clean White | Blue | Black competition Gi’s accepted.

Podium will be 1st, 2nd and one 3rd place winner.

We require the competitors to be in the academy ready, one hour prior to the start time of your appointed division

  • Female White Belt - 10:00 AM

  • Male Purple Blet - 11:00 AM

  • Female Blue Belt - 11:00 AM

  • Male Blue Belt - 11:30 AM

  • Male White Belt Feather - 11:45 AM

  • Male White Belt Light - 1:00 PM

  • Male White Belt Middle - 1:30 PM

Hello friends of East LA Jiu Jitsu, welcome to our friendship tournament series, which all proceeds will benefit our non-profit youth program! This is an Master, Adult and Juvenile (16-17yrs) GI tournament. Adult White Belt to Purple Belt and Juvenile White and Blue Belt. Sunday, July 30th at 10:00 am. We have student from various schools participating!

For your $55, you will get at least 2 fun, competitive matches and the opportunity to hang out with your buddies and compete together as a school—all the best parts of a jiu jitsu tournament without all the hassle, high fees and jiu jitsu politics! AND….YOU will make it possible for kids to train jiu jitsu irregardless of their families’ financial situation!

Tournament Date: Sunday - July 30th, 2023

Time: Doors open 9:00am and weight-in time starts at 9:30am

(SAME DAY WEIGH IN) Weigh-in guidelines for competitors is as follows:

  1. All Athletes must clear weight prior to their first match.

  2. Weigh-ins are with FULL UNIFORM

  3. Athletes are allowed to weigh in without knee or elbow braces, but they will have to be wearing them at the time of the uniform inspection.

  4. The athlete cannot step on the scale with shoes or any item besides his/her regular uniform and equipment permitted for use during matches.

  5. Each athlete shall only mount the official scale of the event to have his/her weight taken once unless authorized.
